  The
largest use of residential energy is for central and space heating. For this reason it has
become imperative to home owners that they be able to heat their homes as efficiently as
possible. By using propane-fueled gas heaters, consumers can have warmer heat with greater
comfort, longer life expectancy, and less maintenance at lower prices.
Fact 1: An electric heat pump produces heat only as warm as
95º-98º Fahrenheit, and as a consequence must operate at long periods of time to meet
home heating needs.
Fact 2: A gas furnace heats air to about 130º-140º
Fahrenheit, and operates in short intervals to minimize operating costs with maximum
warmth.

Water heating is the second largest
use of energy in most homes today. Not only do propane-fueled water heaters offer
independence from electricity, they also offer low operating costs plus a continuous
supply of hot water in a shorter period of time. For example, a 30 gallon propane model
will recover up to 55 gallons per hour, while a 52 gallon electric water heater is needed
to produce the same amount of hot water. These advantages along with the variety of water
heaters and different installation options has made the use of propane water heating even
more attractive to builders and consumers.

  Surveys continually prove that consumers
prefer to cook with gas. These appliances offer every imaginable convenience, efficiency,
and cleaning ability available. Unlike electric ranges, gas ranges let the homeowner begin
cooking without having to wait for burners to warm up. Also, since propane burners cool
more quickly than electric burners, they offer less of a burn hazard to small children.

Millions of propane gas barbecue grills
are used by Americans at home and on vacation. Grills come in small portable tabletop
models up to the very large stationary units. A single 20 pound propane cylinder will
provide enough fuel for about 40 hours of barbecuing. Some grills are designed for
smoking, barbecuing, deep frying and broiling. Today's grills use push-button ignitions
for instant cooking. Grills can be portable or permanently installed in the yard or on the
patio.
